BREAKING: Yacht Crafter leaving the forums

THE BLOCKHEADS - Long-time member of the forums Yacht Crafter has announced his leaving of the forums.

He has been a member for over a year, joining in early July of 2013.

He posted his resignation about half an hour ago.

He says that he will continue beta testing but will only play on some private servers. According to Yacht, control of his servers will be transferred to Cameron343 and he will not run in the election to lead TNR.

BREAKING: Update 1.6 to come in a week, flight to be added?

BREAKING NEWS - Dave has posted an announcement thread on the News and Announcement section of the forums!

On the poster, it says that blockheads will be "taking flight", with a picture of a blockhead in what looks like a jetpack. This was generally greeted with a very positive response from the community. The poster also said that the update is "coming November 19th", which is only a week from now.

Stay tuned folks! This will be BIG! :D

Funny (and fake) 1.6 rumors!

As you can probably guess, people are pretty hyped about the upcoming 1.6 update, and in the midst of all the hype, some people decide to make some rumors. Some are good, some are bad. Some are just completely stupid. Here's a few of my favourites from The Blockheads Forums that you can troll your friends with ;)
Please note: None of these rumors have been verified or confirmed. Please don't believe them.

• Zombies - By Joe

1.6 will be known as the zombie update. Starting in the more temperate zones, they will be attracted to living Blockheads. If bitten, your blockhead will become an autonomous zombie, and be remove from the players que.
As time goes on, zombies in the temperate zones will become bloated due to heat, and gain the ability to cross oceans. They will also develop a form of hive consciousness, due to their common goals. They will begin to travel in large hoards. Eventually, they will develop a resistance to cold.
There will be a cure for this necrosis, but the ingredients will include arcane items that are hard to find. Crafting the cure will take a fair amount of time, and will develop only two doses. If a blockhead is successful in administering the antidote, and has a slot available, he/she will gain a random blockhead who is then immune to the disease. The cure will not be available at Trade Portals.

• Paintable Everything! - By me (adapted from 'Paintable Donkeys')

One of the new features in 1.6 will be the ability to paint anything and everything! Using the new Spray can (1 Paint bucket, 1 Aerosol), you will be able to paint all things in the game. From Mobs to Moons, South Poles to Suns, EVERYTHING IS PAINTABLE!!! Even the GUI can be painted to add your own touch of customization.

BREAKING: 1.6 coming soon, awaiting approval...

BREAKING: MajicDave posted on his Twitter last night that update 1.6 could be just around the corner!

Essentially, Dave's now just waiting for the App store to approve it, and for Noodlecake to port it to Android for the Androiders out there. According to beta testers, Noodlecake has finished porting to Android and now they're beta testing the Android version, which Erick says takes about "2-4 weeks".

1.6 is coming soon! Get ready, folks!

Autumn Spawn Competition!

Get out those paints - Supergal has started the Autumn Spawn competition! Decorate your server fall-themed and send it in on the forums by the 6th of November, and your server could win an award (which is still hidden for now). The more you decorate, the better! The panel of judges will rate and judge your spawns, and choose a winner!

The world anxiously awaits 1.6

The world continues to hold their breath as 1.6 may be coming out any day now...

According to beta testers on the forums, beta testing is in full swing. A Touch arcade article from two weeks ago said that 1.6 should be in just a few weeks, which should be any day now.

Rumours continue to float around the forums.

Pancakes! Llamas! Planes! All these fun rumours...1.6 is coming, and it might be coming very soon!

What's in 1.6-Forums Game!

On the forums there's a game to guess what's in 1.6! Pick three things (be specific-you can elaborate on your guess of things dave has confirmed but you can't say just them) and hope for the best! Beta testers can't take part. This game has been set up by Skeeve.

If you haven't joined the forums, then sign up at theblockheads.net/forum and go to general discussion. The thread is in there. 

My bets are this:

1. JLAVS dance mat.

2. Llamas.

3. Cake.

In addition, you can now host parties with llamas dancing on dance mats eating cake.

FORUMS: Multiple Account Detection In Place!

Fair warning to anyone who's been creating multiple accounts to make themselves more popular/more rep/for fun! Milla has just added in a spam account detection which will detect when you log in to two or more different accounts. Some forumers have relations on the forums which means they may occasionally share a device. 

From the forums:

We have a plugin in place now that detects when more than one person logs in from the same device. It's picked up a few of you that share devices, and I'm aware of those. 

Others look suspiciously like they're posting as more than one person. I have emailed one of you, and will email two more shortly. 

If you think your legitimate use of one device between two or more of you will be detected, please save me the trouble of hitting you up when it happens by emailing support at theblockheads.net telling me which forum users use one of your devices, so I don't come after you needlessly. It's clearly perfectly fine to share devices with others. I just need to know, because the forum will detect it now.

If you have more than one account without permission, please come to me by emailing support at theblockheads.net before I find you, because if I find you before you own up there will be a punitive action taken against you. If you come to me first there will be none.

This moratorium will be in effect indefinitely, but for it to cover your multiple accounts you have to come to me and own up before I bust you.

The New Blockheads community chat

Forum member Bucket has set up a forum chat for the members of the Blockheads forum community to chat on. Everyone is welcome!

So far, the chat has proved very successful, with almost always somebody on. Funny moments and fun games have happened, and overall seems to be very positively recieved.

Victory for Save Izzy Foundation!

Breaking News! Maddie has been grilled! Victory for Save Izzy Foundation!

Finally, after several weeks and some months, Grilling Princess MaddieKgrace has finally been grilled. A great step for Save Izzy Foundation and its members of the organization.

This is how it all started: The role-played Dodo War (or World War III, or the Great Grilling War, as it is more popular to the masses) has been very active for several months. It has first started with Skye234 dominating every server he went onto with his army of scorpions and dodos, which later triggered a theory that the dodo bird are pure evil, and the dodos caused the Blockheads to lose their memory. Later, Skye has quietly disappeared (most probably due to school) then CandyNestea took the throne, grilling everybody for her dodos' sake and kind. Thus, the creation of the organization Save Izzy Foundation together with the Royal Penguin Army and The Feline Federation was created to retaliate the clashes from the dodos.

The evidence has been reported to the public 2 days ago on October 6, 2014, at 8:57 PM. It happened on the Famous and Harry Potter Themed Cloud Server Majic Wands. This post is partly caused of the fact that Maddie had never admitted herself that she was actually grilled by Izzy. And because she only posted Izzy being grilled.

"She tells you she grilled me. What she didn't tell you was that I grilled her. I thought I would get my revenge by leaking just a little photo..." says Izzy, the leader of the Save Izzy Foundation.

Shortly after this, joyful cheers from the masses arrived. The morale was boosted fundamentally for the Foundation. The hope strengthen on Blockhead-kind. I, myself, even posted Nestea being grilled, but she unfortunately, was quick to dodge it, thus still in a "raw" state.

This shows that, despite all the grilling and the shortcomings of the Foundation, we are able to stand up, and fight against the dodos.

FORUMS: We aren't falling apart.

A lot of people are casting doom on the forums as if we were a fish about to be sent down the toilet.

This is wrong.

The forums had a huge fight, mainly because one user couldn't communicate his ideas correctly and resorted to name calling, singling out servers and then getting mad when that server owner asked why he was singling it out. He then made two new accounts and did a bit more of this before he received a ban for 6 months.

They're banned. They're gone. We don't have to worry about it, for at least another 6 months, if ever.

We need to calm down and use the forums as originally intended. A fun space to share our ideas on The Blockheads and help others.
